Annual Run/Walk to Support Recovery
Great Lakes Recovery Centers held it's first Run for Recovery in 2007 in Marquette. In 2019, the Run for Recovery was expanded to include simultaneous events in L'Anse, Marquette and Sault Ste. Marie. Each year, the funds raised from the event are designated to a specific GLRC program.

The 17th Annual Run for Recovery took place in L'Anse, Marquette, and Sault Ste. Marie on July 31st, 2024. This year's run also coincided with GLRC's 40th Anniversary and pointed us to focus on the celebration of recovery efforts around the Upper Peninsula. Brock Tessman, president of Northern Michigan University, was this year's Honorary Captain and helped commence the events in Marquette. All of the proceeds from the events benefited GLRC's Compassionate Care Fund.

The 16th Annual Run for Recovery took place in Marquette and Sault Ste. Marie. Due to rain, the Marquette event was moved indoors for the first time and participants had the opportunity to ran, walk or stroll around the Superior Dome. Jeff Olson was the Honorary Captain for the event and talked with participants inside the Superior Dome and was live streamed to Sault Ste. Marie participants. All of the funds raised during the 2023 Run for Recovery went towards the Compassionate Care Fund.

The 15th Annual Run for Recovery took place in L'Anse, Marquette and Sault Ste. Marie and had a virtual option. The proceeds from the 2022 event benefited GLRC's Compassionate Care Fund.
